Getting it requires going up against someone far more dangerous than the usual monsters.

Gideon Emery brings an ideal mix of dry wit and genuine urgency to Green's fast-moving prose, capturing Eddie's world-weary competence without letting the humor overshadow the stakes. The audio format suits Green's style particularly well, since the rapid-fire banter and kinetic action sequences benefit from a narrator who knows when to slow down and when to accelerate. Emery rarely missteps across either register.
