Property of a Lady Faire
Secret Histories • Book 8

About This Book
Eddie Drood has spent his life protecting humanity from supernatural threats it never asked to know about, but in the eighth Secret Histories installment, the danger lands squarely on his own bloodline. With his family decimated, his parents missing, and his grandfather dead, Eddie faces a threat unlike any he has neutralized before: a formidable and enigmatic figure known as the Lady Faire, who holds the one object that could pull the Drood family back from the brink of extinction. Getting it requires going up against someone far more dangerous than the usual monsters.
Gideon Emery brings an ideal mix of dry wit and genuine urgency to Green's fast-moving prose, capturing Eddie's world-weary competence without letting the humor overshadow the stakes. The audio format suits Green's style particularly well, since the rapid-fire banter and kinetic action sequences benefit from a narrator who knows when to slow down and when to accelerate. Emery rarely missteps across either register.
