Rhett C. Bruno writes science fiction with an industrial edge — gritty, inhabited futures where corporations and colonists grind against each other and nobody comes out clean. Titanborn and the Children of Titan series built his reputation on tightly plotted space opera with genuine class tension baked into the premise, a rarity in the genre. His shorter work like This Long Vigil shows he can strip everything back to a single haunting premise and make it land hard. Bruno also works comfortably in fantasy with the Buried Goddess Saga, but his instincts are always the same: lean plots, morally compromised characters, and worlds that feel lived-in rather than merely described. Readers who want their sci-fi cynical and propulsive, with audiobook casts that include Ray Porter and R.C. Bray doing the heavy lifting, will find a lot to like here.
