Friend of a Friend Dramatized Adaptation

Ray Dylan is a professional hit man with a simple assignment: check in on Sami Bloom, former mistress of a recently deceased crime financier. The job turns complicated fast. Dylan finds himself falling for the warm and perceptive Bloom, even as he works to conceal his true profession from her. When he discovers that her secrets reach into the highest levels of the very organization he serves, and a violent street-level criminal sets his sights on her, Dylan must decide how far he is willing to go to protect the woman he should not have gotten close to.

The full-cast dramatized production makes excellent use of its ensemble, with Colleen Delany, Michael John Casey, Nora Achrati, and the rest of the company giving each player in Cotton's crime landscape a sharp, individual presence. The format suits Ralph Cotton's fast-paced style, and the compact runtime never drags. Tension builds naturally when multiple voices are in play, and the cast handles the story's dark humor with precision.
