Catherine Bilson brings warm energy to a story that lives or dies on the chemistry between its leads, and she handles the comedic misunderstandings without letting them tip into farce. The Regency social world is rendered with enough period texture to feel authentic without becoming a vocabulary exercise. At nearly 14 hours, this is a generous listen for fans of the genre, well-paced and romantically satisfying.
