Susan Ericksen's performance of the Magdalena subplot is among the series' more impressive sustained performances. She renders the manipulative charm of the character without making it cartoonish, which makes Eve's difficulty believing her own instincts feel grounded and real. At just over 12 hours, Innocent in Death is one of the more emotionally demanding entries in the series.
