About This Audiobook
The seventh Bridgerton sibling finally gets his story: Gareth St. Clair has inherited an old family diary written in Italian, which he does not speak, and requires translation to understand the secrets of his own past. He turns to Hyacinth Bridgerton, who claims her Italian is adequate — an overstatement she immediately regrets. The resulting partnership of two people who are genuinely, irritatingly well-matched drives the seventh Bridgerton novel's warm comedy and its deeper examination of what identity actually costs.
Rosalyn Landor has narrated the Bridgerton series throughout, and her handling of the novel's finely tuned comedic timing is authoritative. The Smythe-Smith musicale scene — a series tradition — gets full audio treatment, and Landor's rendering of Hyacinth's mix of sharp intelligence and hidden vulnerability makes the romance genuinely moving rather than merely pleasant. At just over 11 hours, this is one of the series' more playful entries.
