Top Rated Sci-Fi Audiobooks

The top rated science fiction audiobooks ranked by listener and reader ratings — only titles with 5,000+ reviews, sorted by the scores that matter most.

These are the highest-rated sci-fi audiobooks based on actual listener and reader scores. We sort by Audible rating first — the people who experienced the narration — and fall back to Goodreads when Audible data isn't available. Every title has at least 5,000 ratings, so nothing here is riding on a small sample size.

Rating-sorted lists tell a different story than curated ones. Some cult favorites punch above their weight, while big-name titles sometimes land lower than you'd expect. If you trust the crowd, this is the list to follow.

How We Rank Audiobooks

Rankings are driven by listener ratings and review counts from Audible and Goodreads. Books with high ratings across a large number of listeners rank higher — a 4.5 with 50,000 ratings says more than a 4.8 with 200.

Unlike most book lists, we weight audiobook-specific factors: narrator performance, production quality, and how well a story translates to audio. A great book with a poor narration isn't a great audiobook.

We don't accept paid placements or prioritize new releases. These rankings reflect what listeners actually enjoy, not what's being promoted.

Rankings update periodically as new ratings come in and new titles are added to the collection.
